'Cause, 'cause the fraternity just, uh, just inducted 257, 258 more players into its brethren, and it's, it's something that going back to, um, an event like this and reliving your experiences of playing against one another, there's a great amount of respect that, that is all around the National Football League with the former players and, and getting to welcome some of the, the new brethren in was, uh, was a great honor for me.
So I'm in the new Lambeau work area on Thursday night, and they trot out all 32 legends from these franchises, and you're two spots to the left of Roger Goodell.
Take me through kinda how Thursday night went, uh, and how, how'd you know you would be right there? What'd you do on Thursday night with no pick? And then on Friday night, what are the behind-the-scenes when you're about to come to the stage? Does...
Who, who gives you the card with the pick? How long in advance is that? Give me the whole, the whole behind the scenes of the, those two days.
Um, the, the NFL Draft and, and all the moving pieces that they have to be able to make that the made for television event that it is with, with all the fans around the world, it, it takes a village, and there are people working in every inch of the stadium, the green room, um, the commissioner's office, uh, cooks, chefs, it... you name it.
There was all, all kinds of, all kinds of people making this thing go down the way that it did.
I, for me, Thursday night, I just kicked it with a couple, uh, other former players, and we, we had dinner at, uh, Capital Grille, and then, uh, we got a couple drinks in, in the hotel bar and we watched the first night of the draft, which the first night of the draft was spectacular.
... that's a pretty fantastic job for, uh, for Goodell to have gotten that thing down to when it was six hours when he took over as commissioner.
Uh, when you're in the green room, so Friday, when you're in the green room, you're just sitting around relaxing, hanging out.
