Josh Jacobs’ Legal Troubles, Zaire Franklin’s Outlook & Myles Garrett’s Blockbuster Trade

John, we're in the heart of OTAs, but that's not where we're gonna start today because, as I flip my pen, uh, there was some alarming and a little disturbing news, I shouldn't say a little disturbing, disturbing news coming out of, uh, the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department last week.

We'll get right into it.

And keep in mind, this case is still open, and I wanna emphasize that.

This is all alleged at this point, but Packers star running back Josh Jacobs, uh, arrested and charged with five things relating to domestic abuse.

He is no longer in jail.

He did spend, uh, a little less than a day in jail.

But what, what was your initial reaction to this? And i- it is kind of a, I don't wanna say tricky, but the Packers are in kind of a no comment mode as this legal process plays out.

And I know people want answers and they want a resolution, but things like this that have to go through the legal system don't just happen with the snap of a finger.

Yeah, I mean, my first impressions, you ask, I'll tell you.

Josh Jacobs is a beloved figure in that locker room at Lambeau Field, and he's the guy that when you talk with coaches, they will make reference to, uh, he's the heartbeat of the offense.

Even though Jordan Love is the leader that he is, you know, Josh Jacobs is, is kind of the driving force be- behind the practice habits, the, the, the, the pace at which these guys go out there and, and, and, and learn from and practice with.

And it's, it's just an innate ability in him to be able to, to be that, that kind of, uh, resonating force that brings people along with him in his enthusiasm for the game.

And, you know, I was talking with, uh, a, a coach earlier this, this spring about, you know, players on the team and just who just loves football, and Josh was one of those guys who just loves the game of football.

Um, obviously, there's a lot of reasons to play in the NFL, but I, I think the one that you can really separate yourself as a player as, is having that true love and passion for the game, and Josh Jacobs is one of them.

So when you hear news like this, when you hear the words domestic violence being used, um, in the same sentence with any player's name, it is alarming, it's concerning.

But when it's a player like Josh Jacobs, and speaking just for the impact it has on this Packers team, this Packers locker room, it's massive.

Yeah, a- and obviously everyone has heard the details by now, or the, uh, alleged details, I should say.

We recorded last Tuesday morning.

This happened last Tuesday evening.

Packers had an OTA.

But if you don't know what happened, uh, the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department here in Green Bay was called to a disturbance, not this past Saturday, but two Saturdays ago, May 23rd.

Investigated for a couple days, arrested Josh that following Tuesday, charged him with, uh, battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim.

He was jailed and kept in Brown County Jail for, I don't know, 16 hours.

You'd have to fact check me on that.

Um, but then he was s- scheduled to appear in court last Wednesday in order to, uh, get released, but he never appeared in court because the Brown County District Attorney's office comes out and says there is insufficient available evidence to proceed with criminal charges.
