Tanged in Trauma Bonding, Body Horror & Resilient Housewives (with Heather Gay)

All right, now, Tangled in Song.

What song am I tangled in? It's been a big week of new music to come out.

I am still immersing myself in the Orville Peck new album, Mule, which I think is just maybe my favorite album of the year, definitely in my top three.

I love the whole thing, so give that a stream.

I'll probably focus on some more of those songs down the road.

Of course, Taylor Swift released the encore edition of Life of a Showgirl with four new songs, and I am still processing those tracks.

I am a Swifty.

I guess my short take is that If one of those songs was removed, people would be reacting a lot more positively about these four songs.

And I think it's her right to give a upbeat, happy, Midwest banger of a love song.

And really, as she says, haters are going to hate.

And I think she knows that's going to be a very divisive song, which it is.

Upon first listen, it's like, what, Cleveland? And then you listen more, and she knows how to turn a song that might be annoying into an earworm.

And I think she's fully aware of it all.

But Patient Zero, Pink Clouding, Babylon, those are solid tracks.

I think they're being overshadowed by one track that a lot of people don't like.

Overall, it's good, but that's not the song I'm tangled in.

I also want to tell you that Alanis Morissette released a cover of Season of the Witch by Donovan, which is haunting and

fun and

very seasonal, as you can tell.

It's for a new show in Canada.

It's called Yaga or Yaga.

I don't know.

I'm not Canadian.

But I think it's a haunting type of horror show.

It's a very fitting song.
