Obviously, with lockdowns, COVID, all that good stuff, lockdowns pretty much caused a big dip and the numbers went down.

But then we had a rebound and as of March 2024, it got back up to 50,000 knife offenses.

And I'll put a graph in this video somewhere for you guys to see what I mean visually.

Regionally, the crisis of stabbings and knife crime is usually concentrated in the cities.

The Met Police accounted for about 31% of all knife crime in England and Wales, meaning about one third of all incidents happened in London.

Once you leave the major cities, knife crime drops quite significantly, a lot lower than you would expect.

So we know that knife crime is not a national crisis in the way that it's presented when the media talks about crime as a national epidemic they're really talking about a few dense urban regions this isn't just black on black crime it's urban on urban crime in a way and that's like a social problem more than a racial problem but i'll get into the depths of what that means in a second so before i get into the next part of this video i need you to ask yourself why why is knife crime always framed as a racial issue when if you take your time and actually look at the data you'll uncover it's more than just race.
