Terminator 2. Should they have stopped there? Err, yes.

Yeah, I think it's fun.

I mean, and they were groundbreaking effects, you have to say.

They were, absolutely.

Yeah, we were very, we're quite glib about this stuff now, aren't we? Yeah, yeah.

Wow, look at that.

Yeah, exactly.

I was just going to say, some of them left me agog.

Agog? Agog.

So, hang on, let's give this perspective for us both.

So I was a sprightly 29, is that right?

i guess i think so it sounds more accurate 1962

so 1991 i was 29 yeah there you go

yeah i was uh just coming up to 20. oh wow yeah no no uh yeah no just coming up to 20.

yeah a mere pop Yeah,

this came out just before my 20th birthday on the 2nd of August 1991.

Was that the UK release?

That was the UK release.

It came out on the 3rd of July 1991 in the US.

yeah we would have played it on date that one we were sort of up and up and running because it was released by i want to say guild film distributors i think it

was yeah probably guild because it was a carolco

carolco film um the lovely george king yeah so i think that's what happened so guild kind of in the so what sorry what was the release date around that time

uh second of august

yeah that's exactly what happened so george bless him invented this mid-august date for these films with total recall he put total recall out like mid-august it absolutely cleaned up at the box office because the perception was that you couldn't put a film like that out in the middle of the summer holidays but actually guild did and they they used to call it the total recall date for a while i mean that's sort of lost in the mists of time now but that's what it was so for for some years after that all those kind of films would were they would target that mid-august date um uh i think well i think the one that probably killed it was dread it was at 93 yeah that was it

you mean the stallone one

yeah yeah oh no judge dread wasn't it that was cool
