yeah it's that was to me that cynical and ham-fisted right like obviously the communists of the time had no problem with the idea of creating a workers republic in the united states of america and maintaining the trappings of the united states of america as they developed a workers republic but uh you know using sort of nationalist rhetoric like that was disingenuous i think
