um well what's uh what's are you are you you said you're you're all these things are things you're doing on your own here you worked at gumroad in the past and this is kind of your thing now you're an independent builder you're you're building these things you're you're you're trying to find a way um Do you find, since you worked at a place, a larger entity like Gumroad, I don't think they're huge, but you've worked at a place as an employee and now you're your own boss.
How has that lifestyle been different and which one do you prefer at the moment?
I prefer the old one, honestly.
It's so hard.
But it's also super satisfying when you get sales and you get customers giving you feedback on the product.
There's nothing that matches that feeling compared to when I worked at Gumroad or before that.
And I worked there for five years, also became like a team leader.
And I got to upskill a lot during that time.
that's super, super hard to find honestly here in Romania.
So I felt like I was super, super lucky to be able to work there and upscale and kind of like preparing myself to build a business because when I worked there, I learned a lot about what it means to build a business.
What's a GMV? How's equity working? all sorts of taxes, documents, invoicing, reporting, and all these sorts of stuff that once you have to build a business, you have to know about it.
And I felt like I kind of was preparing myself to be able to build my own stuff and be more confident that once I left Gumroad, I was a bit more confident that I could do it on my own, honestly.
And I still have a couple of gigs on the side because, I mean, things are still not covering the expenses of the household.
So I still have to sustain that some way.
But I'm hopeful that in, as I said, three to five years from now, maybe these apps will be able to sustain.
I love the fact that you're thinking in the long term because that's that's so important.
We were talking before we went live here how everybody wants to be an overnight success.
