As we continue our podcast journey, we love hearing people’s stories—from where they started, through the struggles they faced, to where they are today. Our next guest’s story is one you won’t want to…
Did you ever have, like, a different career path you wanted to, like, if, like, the journalism didn't work? Like, a plan B? No.
No
top shot.
Journalism or nothing,
right?
it was journalism or nothing like i definitely had different like things i would do in journalism um like i think my dream has always been to be in front of the camera like doing what i'm doing now interviewing people like i'm a big believer in everyone has a story and i've always wanted to be able to be that person where people feel comfortable or i have a platform where people are able to come and tell their stories like that has always been my dream like i'm like you know my i'm a child of two immigrants and my parents have been through a lot my mom coming from Guyana and like she had a very hard life growing up and my dad like he left Iran during the revolution and like the war and stuff and both of them I grew up listening to their story so these are like normal people right but when you sit down and talk to my mom and dad they have like extravagant stories my dad escaped war my mom's you know father passed away when she was young and the struggle she faced so it was like always embedded in who I am and like my own story of that like Everyone has an extravagant story and you just have to talk to them to figure it out.
I think that there were maybe times where I doubted like would I be the person to be sitting down or talking or would I just be like maybe more behind the scenes? But no, I always knew it was always journalism or nothing.
Yeah, that's good.
You set your mind to something, that's it.
You just make it work.
I can see lawyer.
lawyer a little bit.
I can see lawyer a little
Lawyer? I think like I've thought of like other things like lawyer, maybe like a teacher.
Something was speaking.
