This was apparently talked about for, like, the weeks leading up, but it came out of nowhere.

Usually that means, like, in the past, like, when I'm working for Bleach Report, I think, like, okay, in five minutes, it's going to actually get reported on.

But, yeah, Knies, Lawrence, Emil Andre and his second round pick are going to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Toronto gets Marchenko, Miles Wood, and Elvis Merzlikens with some money retained.

Before we dive into like the team aspect in the contract aspect, what's just your assessment? Like if I asked you this two days ago, what's kind of your assessment on Marchenko and Nyes? Just purely as players, like where do you think that they rank when it comes to wingers in the NHL? What do you love and what do you maybe criticize about their game?
I think Marchenko is a better player.
I don't think it's significantly, but I do think he drives play better than Naiz does, and he's more of a flashy type of player as well, more entertaining to watch.
But to me, it's more like a lateral move player-wise, especially because Naiz has a couple of years younger than Marchenko.
You said you don't want to get into contracts yet, but that's the biggest aspect of the trade, in my opinion, is the contract.
We'll get to later.
I don't think it's a crazy discrepancy by the two players.
They're very similarly ranked.

It's like it's really impressive what he's done in Columbus the last two seasons without like a semblance of a number one center.
