Emma VigelandHostThere, uh, is a debate tomorrow night in Michigan between, uh, Mike Rogers, who, whose attempts to dodger this, uh, debate, uh, did [laughs] not go through.
And, um, you know, I think the, um, uh, this, this debate was important, I think, for, uh, uh, Troy Jackson to show that he had the gravitas to be senator, and, um, I think he was effective in that regard.
I mean, the, the biggest argument here, uh, ultimately is, is, uh, Susan Collins is trying to distance herself from Donald Trump.
She has tried to portray herself as a moderate throughout her 75 years as senator, uh, from Maine.
And, um, i- she has managed to thread that needle for, like I say, uh, literally decades.
Um, and here she is, uh, arguing in her, the, the, one of her most controversial votes was voting for Brett Kavanaugh because Emily's List and, uh, other organizations have, uh, supported her in the past because she is supposedly a vote against banning abortion.
And of course, when the rubber met the road, she voted for Brett Kavanaugh, who was the deciding vote, and she still is trying to justify that vote.
Quick follow-up.
Y- you reported that you did have a chance to interview Brett Kavanaugh before h- his nominating vote.
You said at the time that he said that he considered Roe v.
Wade settled law.
Do you feel at any level that Brett Kavanaugh lied to you on that day?
day?I do not feel that he lied, but I think that he should not have said it was settled law because to me that meant that it would not be overturned.
