Ian Cooper is a Senior Research Fellow at the Brexit Institute at Dublin City University and, of course, a Canadian who is our expert this week on the EU.

Very much appreciate the explanation.

Foreign trade grew by 19.8% year-on-year.

So for more on China's economic performance in August, my colleague Gao Yingshi spoke with Dr. Zhou Mi, Senior Research Fellow with the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation.

In August, industrial production and foreign trade growth accelerated, and we also see some new trends in the service sector.

So how would you evaluate the overall performance of China's economy?

We want to reduce the impact of the consumption and have a better support to the better environment in the world.

So generally speaking, I think that we are trying to give better opportunities for the Chinese consumers and also giving them more choices.

I'll be working on that at least for the next three years as I undertake the fellowship, and I hope that I'll be able to find some answers to questions that have been puzzling me for a while.

Well, congratulations on the Research Fellowship, Jara, and congratulations on this amazing new book, which I think will be so warmly welcomed by people interested in Java in Indonesia, but also people interested in history.

So I just want to thank you so much for sharing your expertise and insights on doing history in pre-modern Java.

I'm sure you've given our listeners a lot to think about.
