114: This week I discuss this insane Phish summer we just had. Then I share a story of the fastest (and only) time I got kicked out of a concert. We bring out Rex the Security Guard to tell us tales…
There you go.
So yeah, first and foremost, guys, at the time of this recording, I am deep in Phish live-streaming, as I know many of you are who are listening.
Why? [laughs] Because it's a great deal [clears throat] and also there's no alternative now.
You can get live Phish with, which I love the play on words, like the curtain with.
For $150, w- you can also now live-stream all of the available live-stream Phish shows, which is a lot of them.
So I did the math and I re-- and I thought to myself, "Well, I only probably, if I'm being real, I only probably stream, like, three, four, maybe five at most Phish shows a year.
[laughs] Like, they were like, "Thanks for the money, all of you," because so many people did this.
Is it that I'm just streaming more Phish, and I just didn't watch that much Phish in the last few years, and every sh- Phish show feels incredible now that I'm live-streaming it, or is something really special happening? I'm gonna go with the latter because I've seen a lot of Phish, and I, uh, I think I have a pretty good gauge for what I'm seeing.
And if I could fault Phish with anything when I compare them to some of my other favorite jam bands, and it, it is that their set list can be a bit predictable in terms of placement, and you're never gonna get, like, a jammed out Bouncing.
