I, I'm not saying this to be inflammatory or anything.

I, I don't really know a whole lot about Phish.

I knew a lot of friends that, that were into Phish.

Mike Fenoya, one of the funniest guys that I know.

He's on tour with, uh, the guy that talks like this, Tater Salad Uh, Mike is a Deadhead, he's a Phish fan.

Is he a Phish fan? But he co-hosts a podcast, Comes a Time, alongside Dead & Company bassist, Hotel, I hope I said that right, Burbridge.

On Saturday, May 26th, his new weekly show, Saturday Night Shakedown, named after the '78 song, will launch on SiriusXM's Grateful Dead Channel.

Well, I'm not a j- I mean, there's m- there's, you know, it's not like I'm a one-way, uh, funnel here where it's only Grateful Dead and Phish.

Yeah, that's kind of the dream.

Like I don't, we don't think we have enough time left literally to, to become Phish, but-

I feel like those are the, t- personally that's the things I'm dreaming of when I go to a Big Thief show, is like I wanna see something that's never happened before.

I w- I had this big, b- before I got rid of Twitter, I had this big, uh, push, one of my routine things would be to try to get the Phish and jam band taping community to start taping Big Thief shows, 'cause I j-

Okay, what should we play?" [laughs] And she's there, like, playing Phish, and it was just the best night, and woke up fresh the next morning, did a workout.

It was a good weekend.

Took the kids to the beach, and Bob's your uncle.

Yeah, I mean, it's just, like, it's an incredible business model.

Are you a Phish guy as well?

I am.

I saw some Phish shows, and, in fact, my first Phish show was in...

November of 1994.

And it's still like one of the best shows I've ever seen.

The Dead was more lumbering.

I feel like it was kind of, I'm paraphrasing someone, but they were like, it was kind of like songs with songs or the jams kind of had to serve the songs, I think, that the people did.

And they go to school like you don't want them to ever get caught in that situation where they can't make friends or, or people are, you know, just being mean for the sake of being mean and, you know, through kind of like in the same way that we have our connections through this band through music.

harper was able to find her connections and her uh circles of trust and safety through fans of taylor swift and i i think that's one of the things about the swifty community that everybody has put into full focus is that there is this common bond between them all that they're all very very passionate about her music and it all brings them together in the same way that Grateful Dead fans are the same way that Dave Matthews fans are and Phish fans and Pearl Jam fans as well.

And I will, while never really into Taylor Swift's music, I'll always appreciate that she's been able to grab those kind of people and get them to be involved because of something that she's done musically.

I'll always respect that.

And its predecessors brought in a variety of jazz bands, big bands, and burlesque shows for 50 years before that.

Now, the former owner of Nietzsche's, one of Buffalo's best-known bars and entertainment venues, wants to have the Allentown building declared a local landmark, giving it heightened visibility and protection while possibly opening the door for additional incentives for future renovations and repairs.
