The Level 603: Cthulhu, Round and Lumpy

me

jala has something new i want to hear about it

okay i've got two new things one is silver but they're both literally new they both came out recently uh both are horror games so uh first one is silver pines

I played the demo for that.

That looks so good.

Yeah.

So it's a 2D indie horror Metroidvania released in 2026, developed by Witch Elm and published by Team 17.

It has real Silent Hill and Twin Peaks vibes.

So if you hadn't already played it, I was going to say, hey, Kay, it's got a vibe that you like.

I don't know about the rest of it, but I know the vibe is your thing.

Yeah.

So...

I thought the mechanics were pretty good, too.

Yeah, yeah.

It's pretty classic in terms of the combat and resource management stuff.

Right, right.

So you play as Detective Red Walker looking for Eddie Velvet, who is a musician in the mostly evacuated due to a severe oncoming storm rundown rural town of Silver Pines.

We played this—I say we because Dave and I both played it— To be honest, Dave played more of it than I did because, you know, I'm running around like a chicken with my head cut off.

So I was doing something else, sitting on the couch, watching him for part of it.

And then I picked up the controller for a little bit and played a little bit and then gave it back to him.

So anyway, we were co-opping it, let's say, on PS5.

And I love the visual style of this.

The environments are 3D.

The player and the enemies are comic book style, sort of, kind of cel-shaded, but without the mandatory outlines on everything that you would get in something like a Borderlands or whatever.

It's rotoscoped.
