Timberline Students Demand Answers as Police Investigate

What we need today is to take a look at a few things.

Finally, it's been a very long time in the Treasure Valley that we've had a story that continues to develop.

You know what they say in the media, this is a developing story.

And we see it, and maybe you watched the local TV shows last night.

Maybe you're on social media.

Maybe that's how you get your news.

Regardless of how you get your news, we thank you for giving us an opportunity each and every day to earn your listenership.

But the situation going on in Timberline High School, where apparently, and it really wasn't apparently, you had kids decide to walk out.

And they decided, hey, and...

The world moves so fast today.

The world moves incredibly fast.

And I'm sitting here, you know, you had the allegations on social media.

You had the issue involving threats against a girl.

And then all of a sudden you have the students deciding they're walking out.

And then you have, just like it was serendipitous, the media was locked on to it now maybe the the media people saw this on social media because most of them that's how they're wired they see something on social media they're going oh my gosh we've got to get there and interview the kids because they're standing up for something okay what are they standing up for you have somebody making allegedly dumb stupid comments on social media making threats making threats if you will And saying really bad things.

Now, we don't know whether or not the Snapchat messages were verified.

But the allegations are that they were targeting a female student.

The messages have been attributed by an online petition to football players.

But we don't know who did it.

Was it the entire football team? So we've canceled the football game.

As we talked about, the school forfeited the homecoming game, which was supposed to take place today against CUNA.

And if you're new to the area, it's not CUNA, CUNA, CUNA, CUNA, it's CUNA.

And the Boise Police Department continued to investigate.

School officials say police requested that they pause their own investigation.

And so this is our top lead, if you will, when we're talking about students rallying.
