just cruising around and um yeah we were just kind of like i don't even think the ep was a thing at this point like the ep came so late all the ideas and stuff for that we were just talking about general new music ideas you're like man like how do we like what do we want to do for our next album like we've always had this thing whether intentionally or not it's been like the single word two syllable thing you know blueprints dead weight pressure manic stigma whatever

Has there ever been a band that's fully embraced... like hurricanes as like a you know as like a metal part of life you don't need a natural disaster obviously um and it's like well who better than us you know we've been through so many hurricanes because of being floridian so that's kind of where it all started we started dreaming up like oh i mean there's like so many cool ways to like get into the record with like storm warning sounds and all that stuff and so that's where the initial idea started and then uh the song that became landfall uh that was a song that i had written in like october of last year i think while we were in europe it was like a green room demo um And then, like, the more we just kind of thought about it, it's like, man, this sounds like the opening track of the record.

The riff feels kind of swirly, and you know what I mean? And so, yeah, we crushed the whole thing upstairs here at my house.
