Uh, and Pantera are gonna be playing it, along with almost all of the NOLA bands.

Down are there, Corrosion of Conformity are there, Crowbar are there, Eyehategod are there.

It also includes Black Label Society, who of course Zakk Wylde is playing in Pantera right now.

Um, Pig Destroyer, uh, a couple of other great bands as well.

Power Trip are in the middle o- o- o- of this poster.

Um, really, aside from Acid Bath and maybe a Soilent Green, that is, like, all, almost all of the big NOLA names that we were speaking about on our NOLA special we did at the end of last year all congregating in one place.

And it does lend some credence to when we were discussing Pantera in that special, being like, "How adjacent is, you know, the Great Southern Trendkill, um, to the, the NOLA sludge scene?" But if that's your, um, your, your music of choice in your scene, then that's definitely a, a night to remember.

before I move on to the next story one thing I always think is cool like the last time I went to a Garth Brooks concert was right before the pandemic when he was at Empower Field and what I loved was I'm walking around going to our seats there's guys with big ass mohawks you know rock and rollers and you know wide variety of people obviously country fans you know dress the part And one of the guys I was with, he's like into Pantera and whatever.

And he's like, dude, I've always wanted to see a Garth Brooks concert.

And then he's there, and that's where we met this guy with this mohawk and whatever.

It wasn't only that genre of metal that was affected, though.

The Metallica and Pantera of 1989, for instance, were a far cry from how they were in 2001.

Incomplete polar opposites, as it turned out.

In fact, if one was to single out one band who had managed to negotiate the stormy waters of the 1990s best without losing or changing their reputation, then that band could arguably be Slayer.
