nice uh so the next song is actually my favorite one on the album it's god complex which you guys have released a music video put out as a single last week I believe dude again one of my favorites this song I feel like really encapsulates the wage war this whole record really is into one song and like just the grooves like almost like the like industrial vibes the hook and stuff man I just let me know tell me about this one
14:35
Yeah, I think God Complex is probably...
14:38
I think the record pulls from many different eras of wage war, and I feel like God Complex is probably the closest one that pulls from the manic stigma era.
14:47
Mm-hmm.
14:49
It's trying to think of how it came about.
14:52
Like I wanted to do something different.
14:55
You know what I mean? Like we have a lot of songs that have like the high singing chorus.

20 MINS LATER

35:13
all right number 11 track spellbound We're
3:32
When, when you guys sit down to write clean hooks over instrumentals, um, that intense, how do you mentally bridge the gap between heavy and melodic?
3:47
Um, I don't know.
3:48
It's definitely a delicate balance.
3:51
Um, I don't really like when choruses come out of nowhere.
3:54
I like there to be some kind of setup in some way, and it's not, I don't, granted it's not always perfect, but, um, I mean, Blindfold, uh, that was also kind of a, um, I wrote that one in the back of the bus while we were on tour one time, and I just had the idea of, um, you know, I wanted that s- that kind of swing feel, that 6/8.
4:16
Uh, and the chorus just kind of like fell in the lap, and then, you know, as like the, the lyrics just, that was one of those ones that just happened fast.
4:22
Like, within an hour, like the whole song was basically fleshed out to like a listenable point.
4:36
Mm-hmm.
36:48
Cry wolf,
36:49
bed of nails, dude.
36:51
There's so much good stuff on there.
36:53
Thank you, man.
36:54
I appreciate that.
36:55
I appreciate that.
36:56
There's absolutely a reason that you guys did the thing.

40 MINS LATER

76:56
And I feel like I wouldn't be able to get anything done because of that.
3:38
What the fuck does it mean?
3:44
I mean, I think for us, when it came time to do new music, it didn't start out as an album.
3:51
It just kind of started out as working on songs.
3:53
And we just kind of wanted to get something out sooner than later.
3:57
And those five songs that we picked all just kind of raised their hand as songs.
4:02
feeling true to, like, where we're at in the current state of wage war, like, sonically, you know, it's a good mix of heavy, melodic, and, you know, kind of all the things that we do, and then when we were looking around at how we wanted, what we wanted to call it, how we wanted to brand it, like, all of those things, we just decided to, I know this sounds lame, but, like, kind of look within ourselves, and just be who we are, you know what I mean, we didn't want to do anything insincere or we're not a gimmick band you know what i mean like we just wanted to do our thing and you know our thing is we're a metal band from florida so we said all right cool let's make it the most metal and the most band from florida we possibly can and that's how we got the ep
5:48
Is it easy to do though? Cause like someone from outside of a musical background, you listen to that and it sounds like it's got to be so precise.
5:57
Yeah.
