I always think it's the weakest, most pussy shit I've ever seen in my fucking life.
Cause it's not just like the emotional thing of like, you're fucking over a group of marginalized people for what exactly? It's also politically illiterate as hell.
And that's doubly embarrassing when you consider the fact that like, I know you thought this through.
I know you and a team of people were in the lab thinking through what exactly your stance on this issue was gonna be.
And you came out with like the weakest shit imaginable.
No one's gonna vote for the diet Republican.
They're just gonna see you pivot and go, well, then clearly the Republicans have been correct on this topic the whole time.
It is not impossible to reshift the focus of the interview so that you don't have to throw trans people under the bus.
Unless you're going to be speaking in support of trans people, shift the conversation.
Newsflash, Democrats have tried this over and over again and they still lose.
How about actually standing for something? How about standing up for my fucking rights? Because we are human fucking beings.
We are not political pawns that can be discarded the second that it becomes convenient for you.
And our rights are not something that can be discarded simply because you think it'll get you more votes.
Fuck you.

You just got a small taste of the anger that some Democratic Party politicians have cultivated by throwing trans people under a bus.

And those young people represent a growing number of pissed off Democratic voters who are outraged over the fact that more and more candidates from their party, the party that's supposed to represent them in theory, are choosing to attack trans people all so they can appeal to reactionaries who will never ever vote for them.

And the number of Democrats who are doing this is so much higher than people think.

By journalist Aaron Reid's count, 28 different Democrats currently running in more than a dozen states have all taken transphobic positions.

This doesn't include Democrats like Seth Moulton, by the way, who already lost his race in part because his progressive opponent hammered him for throwing trans kids under a bus, even though he apologized the damage was already done.

So transphobia is still a liability for Democrats in primaries for the most part, but the real issue is what happens after these primaries take place, because that's when these Democrats tend to show their true colors.

And it feels like every other week, a different Democrat does this shit again.

The latest is Don Davis, who's running in North Carolina's 1st District, who released this dogshit ad.
Davis and I spent my childhood on fields like this and played football at the Air Force Academy.
