Holy Spirit, Women, and New Identity

Well, I want to start out today with something from John 14.

John 14 and 15 offer us an incredible view of what it means to live on this side of the cross.

And Jesus, Jesus said this was coming.

I mean, this was the life that you were always meant to have and and Jesus said it was coming.

And in John 14, he says, I'll ask the Father, he'll give you a helper, and he will be with you forever.

Now, do you hear that, John 14, the word forever? What are we doing? What are we doing telling people that they'll be saved for a while? What are we doing telling people that they'll be saved as long as they keep the faith? What are we doing? Telling people they'll be saved as long as they do their part.

They got to remain faithful.

They got to watch out because they might lose it.

No, no, no.

Look again at John 14, 16.

I will give you a helper.

He will be with you.

How long? Forever.

Now it goes on.

It says that is the spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive.

because it does not see him or know him.

But you, you know him because he abides with you and he will be in you.

Now, isn't that interesting? The with and the in.

He abides with you and he'll be in you.

All right, well, what's the with about there? I mean, do you remember this? There's a passage in the Gospels.

You know what I'm talking about.

Jesus breathes on them.

You remember? He breathes on them the Holy Spirit.

And that means the Holy Spirit is with them, but they still have to wait for something better, right? It's called Pentecost.

They waited for something better.
