Galatians 1

We're continuing our series through Galatians, and today we're back in chapter 1 verses 13 through 24 with day 2 of David's message, Called by Grace.

Our text again, Galatians chapter 1, verses 13 through 24.

You understand? It's one nation on earth who pictures the need of prayer to the Lord God of Israel, the only true God there is, and pictures that the Messiah is the hope of us all.

Paul picked up on this too.

In Galatians 1.10, he says it straight.

Are you running after people's approval or God's? If you're still in it for other people, you're not really following Christ.

There's no way to straddle both.

The gospel is the most important thing.

Paul said in Galatians 1, verse 10, am I now seeking the approval of man or of God? Am I trying to get more clicks, more downloads, more shares? Again, I don't know anyone that would ever turn it away and say, oh, that's unfortunate.

I got more views on that video than I had before.

I think the challenge is when we manipulate the content of the video or the point behind the video to try to kind of have a little shock jock approach to what we're doing.

not unjust, it is not ungodly for me to desire sincerely in righteousness a reward and a consolation for my knowing Jesus, for my loving Jesus, and for my serving Him.

Galatians 1:24, it says, "God is glorified in a man, and they glorified God in me." God can be glorified in a man.

Matthew 5:16, "Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father, which is in heaven." John 15:8, "Herein is our Father glorified when ye bear much fruit.

So shall you be my disciples." John 15:16, "You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you and ordained you." Are we together? "That you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain." Are we learning already? Praise the name of the Lord.

See, we have to, as Christians, assess whether or not our worldview is being shaped by cultural norms.

Galatians 1:10 says this, Paul's writing, "Obviously I'm not trying to win the approval of people, but of God." Notice this, "If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ's servant." Listen, if you're gonna try to live a life transformed by truth, there's going to be multiple occasions in your life where the truth of God's Word crash into the cultural values of society.

It's just going to happen.

Okay? And I, I want us to think about this, just in a, in a, a simple way.

Listen at this.

The apostle Paul said in Galatians 1, verse 6-9, I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel, which is not another.

In other words, there's not another.

He said, but there is some that there be some that trouble you and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
