Janice HoldenGuestEvanHostYeah, I relate to this, I relate to this so much.
I think longtime listeners of the podcast kind of have been making a lot of comments recently, 'cause they've witnessed my descent into radicalism.
Just pure, pure insanity.
A- as I started off a hardcore materialist, I studied neuroscience in college.
You know, I, I say that panpsychism and idealism and any sort of flavor of fundamental consciousness was given a five-minute footnote in one lecture in my four-year, you know, degree.
Like, literally five minutes, and it was under the context of, like, there's this thing called, you know, panpsychism, fundamental consciousness.
There's not really much evidence for it.
Next slide.
Okay.
And that was it, and I'm not even exaggerating.
That was the extent that it was given.
Um, which might even be more than other courses.
But as the podcast goes on and I have, you know, talked to so many different experts in different areas of these anomalous conscious experiences, there just gets to a point where y- you can't keep ignoring the data, the anecdotes, the experiments.
You know, the, 'cause there's just so many different areas.
Like, there's so many different anomalous conscious experiences that-
...
it bec- y- y- you know, there's skepticism and there's cynicism, and to ignore everything is getting, is getting just cynical, 'cause there's just so many different strange stuff.
You know, there's, there's-
... all of the DMT entity encounter stuff, all of the encounter, uh, uh, reports of alien abductions, all of the, uh, terminal lucidity, near-death experiences, telepathy, telekinesis.
I mean, like, I think all of these things have different amounts of weight for and against them, and the skeptics are sometimes right.
But there's just too much stuff here.
There's too much weird stuff.
The, the stories that you gave there are absolutely incredible.
