Send us Fan Mail OK Guys, it's time for a brand new episode of the Fix Podcast! On today's episode, the boys discuss all the recent news surrounding…
There was a couple of things that really surprised me in this kind of round of cuts.
And I mean, the biggest one, and we might as well talk about it right off the hop, because I think it's what everyone wants to hear, is I think David Reimbacher being cut from this team at this point, before Gooley comes back, was the biggest surprise for me.
Yeah, oh, 100% me too.
Kind of freaked me out, man.
Especially, you know, a big right-shot defenseman, exactly what the doctor ordered when you're looking at the team.
Played awesome throughout the preseason.
That was the best hockey I've seen Ryan Becker play, period.
I mean, every other preseason he gets blown apart.
You know what I
mean? Yeah.
No, you're absolutely right.
Like, since we drafted him, he's been hurt, you know, or he's only looked okay.
He's looked mediocre.
The best time before this, I see him in a Montreal Canadiens jersey, was right after he was drafted.
He came into that.
They played that little rookie camp right after the draft, and him and Hudson played together.
I don't know if you remember that or not.
But, like, you could see some chemistry then.
That was, what, three years ago now? And that was really the last time I think a lot of Habs fans saw him and were excited up until now.
You know, the combination of him coming to camp and, you know, playing well, getting a shot alongside Hudson.
You know, he moved the puck well.
He made a few mistakes, especially early in the preseason.
He looked really, really solid.
Yeah.
So you couple that with the fact that Caden Gooley was hurt and that opened up a spot on the defensive squad for a guy like Ryan Barker, or apparently, and we'll talk about later, a guy like Adam Enstrom.
