Tim, Luke, and Rich talk with Brian Poindexter about what nineteen years in the iron workers taught him: why right-to-work states stay poor, why the no-tax-on-tips promise turned into a rounding error…
Brian PoindexterGuestTimHostRichHostLukeHostI really liked him.
He's he's fucking awesome.
And I got to say, when when the shit blew up with Max Miller and it was like, oh, this is some serious shit.
Like this, just like
just like that's, that's, that's like par for the course now.
Um, but when you start reading the, the, the, the issues, the, the alleged crimes, I'm trying to pick my words very carefully here.
Cause it makes me want to fucking scream.
But when you, when you look at the things he's accused of, and like you pointed out in the, in the, with, with, with, uh, Brian Poindexter, the pattern over time, um, it's infuriating, and the first thing I did was then run and Google who's running against Max Miller.
And the look on my face when I realized it was a fucking badass iron worker union Democrat, I was like, holy shit, not only...
Is he a good person to challenge somebody like Max Miller? He's the person, he's the Democrat we desperately need to resurface in the Democratic Party.
The hardworking, you know, Rust Belt, Midwest, Southern, whatever, family man, sort of like regular guy.
You know, the people that we've been trying to connect with as we've as we've been as we've been doing this.
So to be able to have him on and have him hold up in the exact way I would expect.
Yeah.
Well, look, look at this.
I mean, 2007 Miller pleads no contest to two misdemeanor charges after being charged with assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
So much for Peg the Blue.
And then they were all dropped because he entered a diversion program.
In 2009, two years later, he was charged with underage drinking after he pled no contest.
That charge was also dismissed.
Classic.
I mean, I don't – I mean – I don't – that one doesn't get me as much as the other ones.
But 2010, yeah, he pled guilty to disorderly conduct stemming from a late-night physical altercation in Cleveland Heights.
I really liked him.
