This is the one hundred and thirty-third episode of The Empty Bowl, in which HUNTR/X breaks a curse, Dan determines whether Backflip Cereal stuck the landing, and Justin discovers the funniest cereal…
Justin McElroyHostWe've got three upcoming Kellogg's cereals to talk about, and the first of them is actually an import.
This is Cinnamon Maple Frosted Flakes, and you can probably guess what country got this cereal before we did.
Yes, Cinnamon Maple Frosted Flakes released in Canada two years ago, and it must have done pretty well because now it's finding its way onto shelves here, Target and Walmart type of places where you should look first if you want to try this.
I mean, Tony's really been on a tear lately with the chocolate peanut frosted flakes that we talked about last time which were surprisingly good and nice and nuanced and so I expect him to keep that excitement high with the cinnamon maple flavor it's really the type of flavor that I don't doubt is going to be delicious it's kind of hard to mess up so I think if I can give this a shot just in time for fall it's going to really set the tone for the season set the tone-y for the season

Yeah, I think we're gonna continue to see this family of flavors, which is cinnamon, maple, and pecan.

I know pecan's not represented here, but I feel like this will become the new autumnal staple as pumpkin spice continues to recede into distant public memory.
It's good in very select applications, but it's not something I'm going to want an entire bowl of, much less, I don't know, when it's stacking up at the bargain grocery outlet after the season's over.
But cinnamon maple is something that I think is enjoyable year-round throughout the entirety of the box.
And... you know, waffle crisp, the maple pecan honey bunches of oats, those are kind of year-round staples also that prove that this is a flavor with staying power that can also, as we see here, be very stylized and targeted towards the season.

And that's nice because it looks like if he starts playing some football or something, it's just a layer that can come right off whenever Tony gets to work out.
know if this is new for Frosted Flakes, but they're very proud at the top of saying that this is made with USA corn.
