One Hundred and Thirty Six

Dan, the Oreo Puffs debacle, the ongoing Oreo Puffs debacle where the fine cereal has been replaced by an unlightened one.

It's now getting a minty burst, I say here.

The most unwanted interloper in breakfast cereal history, Oreo Puffs, whom I shall never forget for what they did to Oreo O's, cereal that built its dynasty over decades, only to be replaced by Corn Puffs.

Apparently permanent.

Probably.

There are afternoons where decades happen, as they say.

Yeah.

And so they really are trying to win us back by doing more holiday riffs on Oreo puffs.

There were the Halloween Oreo puffs that basically just turned your milk orange.

And now they're doing a candy cane Oreo puffs.

And this isn't the first mint chocolate cereal.

There was thin mint cereal almost a decade ago.

There was the mint drumstick cereal, which was pretty forgettable.

There was the Elf on the Shelf peppermint cereal, which wasn't chocolate, and it was just really bad.

No, just quite bad,

yeah.

And then this isn't even like the first mint Oreo cereal because there have been mint Oreo O's both in America and South Korea.

And so I'm not sure what's supposed to be novel here.

The thing that really holds me back from even going full tilt into candy cane Oreo puffs is that they're pretty overt about the fact that only the marbots are peppermint flavored.

So these little tiny rosy nubs that you see are the only bursts of mintiness you're going to get.
