I wanted to ask, with the power of hindsight, how did you end up doing all of those things and where you've ended up now? Was it all part of a master plan or has it all happened fluidly?

I originally started out as an engineer and trained in electrical engineering.

First two years after university, I worked as a consulting engineer on the Dartford River crossing and I absolutely hated it, doing night shifts.

One of the things I was good at though was writing up all the technical manuals and doing the documentation and I realised I had this affinity for explaining complexity in language that people could understand and so I transferred at that point into journalism initially and writing about the electronics industry at a fantastic time in the 90s when it was completely booming and then into public relations because I figured you could earn more with working in pr
