Yeah, who has been a pen pal for a while, but he is one of the leaders in AI, one of the great innovators and one of the great prognosticators.

And this is the eighth, which I think is the last one, of his predictions of what the world will look like in 2050.

Space will no longer be primarily thought of as an exploration destination by 2050.

It will progressively grow into an extension of Earth's infrastructure for science, technology, economics, and security.

The rapidly growing space economy will drastically... alter trade, manufacturing, energy, transportation, communication, national security, and scientific research, much as the internet revolutionized international communications in the late 20th century.

Artificial intelligence, robotics, biotechnology, advanced materials, autonomous systems, and quantum technologies will all come together to make sustained human activity beyond Earth both feasible and profitable.

Global positioning, communications, and other areas are already supported by satellites.

This reliance will grow significantly by 2050 as the foundation of a truly global and increasingly Interplanetary digital economy is formed by thousands of interconnected satellites, autonomous servicing vehicles, orbital manufacturing facilities, lunar installations, and deep space communication networks.

This new space ecosystem will use artificial intelligence as its operational intelligence.

Future planetary exploration vehicles, satellites, and spacecraft will function with levels of autonomy that are unthinkable today.

Beyond Earth, sophisticated robotics will increasingly serve as humanity's main labor force.

Massive telescopes will be assembled in orbit, and intelligent robotic systems will build habitats on the Moon and Mars, maintain orbital infrastructure, mine asteroids for strategic minerals, and produce goods in the microgravity environment of space.

The risk of expenses of human exploration could be significantly decreased if AI-enabled robotics swarms collaborate to construct entire facilities before astronauts even arrive.

companions will enhance human capabilities rather than take the place of astronauts, freeing people to concentrate on exploration, scientific research, and strategic decision-making.
