Laser Mammoth! (Now no longer extinct.) In this episode, Caleb discusses the 13th episode of *Hamster & Gretel*! Segments that are talked about include: - **"A Mammoth Problem":** At a school…
This one starts with Professor Exclamation dropping off his son Nordle at the Eastside Elementary School Science Fair, expecting him to win with a project he built for him.
But how am I gonna learn if you keep building things for me?
what is the point of school?
To win, to crush, destroy, and conquer.
To set myself on a path of world domination.
Oh,
that's my boy.
Here's the laser.
Here's the induction coil.
And don't drop this plutonium.
You'll vaporize everyone in a two-mile radius.
Ah, they grow up so fast.
Meanwhile, following an image scene transition of Nordle holding his science project, Gretel worries that her project, a baking soda volcano, will not impress the judges due to the large number of students that made projects similar to hers, which follows the song called At the Science Fair.
Bailey then comes in and shows Gretel her project about flatfish, with a tank containing a flatfish, but then shortly after Kevin leaves, Nordle at first sounds like he's complimenting Gretel's project, but then it becomes an insult, and after butting heads with him, Gretel ventures out to find a more suitable project that's the opposite of a volcano.
eventually settling on a glacier since Gretel said to Nordle that her volcano project was a decoy, and that follows an image scene transition of Gretel and Nordle being competitive.
After another image scene transition with the iceberg Gretel found, Gretel hires Ernie's Glacier and Iceberg Moving Company to drop off the glacier at the science fair to make sure she brings it there safely without anyone noticing her powers and leaves a 4-star rating.
However, after Nordle shows his project, called Solving the World's Energy Problems, to the judge, it ends up exploding liquid hydrogen and destroying many of the other projects, including Gretel's Glacier, which is revealed to contain a woolly mammoth that soon goes on a rampage.
Unable to get in touch with Hamster due to him watching exercise videos on TV, Gretel and Nordle must work together to save the city when the latter insists that he accompany the former.
They lure the mammoth into a makeshift cave by feeding it cheeseburgers, but Nordle's laser gets destroyed afterwards, and Gretel informs him that it's more about having fun and learning something rather than winning and losing, and that maybe they can be partners and both be winners since her project destroyed his project.
With help from Hamster, who is now able to answer the phone and is tasked to bring his welding torch with him after doing work on a motorcycle, plus an image scene transition of him with the welding torch, Gretel and Nordle return the caged mammoth to the school with intent to enter it as a joint science fair project called How to Get a Mammoth Out of a Glacier Using a Laser.
However, the judges instead decide to award first prize to Bailey for her flatfish project.
The two then decide to donate the mammoth to a mammoth theme park while Professor Exclamation struggles to remember where he's seen Gretel before when he arrives to pick Nordle up.
