Next, The Vikings of Vincennes, the play that Hiromi is producing with the elementary school kids and was also produced by the high school in the mid-90s, is most likely based on the comedic opera the pirates of penzance with the vikings of penzance having a similar name both plays being about a specific kind of marauders at sea and having a monarch leading said marauders in this case the viking queen as opposed to the pirate king Next up is a reference I'm more familiar with, so I definitely recognized it immediately.

The scene where Gretel has a flashback about why she doesn't participate in school plays anymore is very similar to Anne Boonchoy's flashback in the Amphibia episode, A Caravan Named Desire.

another Disney show, as both girls end up tripping while saying their lines, leading them to accidentally destroy the stage and props, as well as harming fellow child actors.

The difference is that Anne's play is about teeth and dental care, and Gretel's play is about healthy foods.

But I think for the Splinter reveal, we do a sort of Darcy situation.

Well, I guess not technically Darcy, a Marcy situation with the end of Season 2 of Amphibia.

What makes this particularly funny to me is watching the Disney animation timeline shift in real time.

Yeah, well, Gravity Falls is a given.

One thing I was surprised about, there was like an episode of Amphibia, which is another Disney Channel cartoon for kids.

Then someone snuck in a shot that was blatantly from Get a Robo Armageddon, and it's like, oh, okay.

And mind you— Friends on the consumer product side at Disney have informed me that there is an absolutely enormous retail program being mounted now to help support Cars Lightning Racers, which is then expected to show up on store shelves in the late spring, early summer of 2027.
