Mary Anne R.GuestJoeHostYeah.
Um, did, did you experience any legal issues or anything like that from your addiction?

Um, I, um, Well, I've been in the back of a cop car, uh, five times and not one of them was for a ride along.

Uh, my last drink, my last drunk, my last arrest all happened at the same time.

And that was what, uh, and this was, so I was 23 and five years then of when I swore off forever the first time.

And when this last episode happened and this last episode happened after what I thought was finally a successful combination that would keep me from getting into trouble and that I could still drink and do what I wanted to do without getting into trouble.

And so for two weeks, I liked hard alcohol, the best, you know, Jack, Jim and Jose.

And I had to buy the NyQuil, of course, in different locations because I can't keep going to the same place and buying a large bottle every day.

And so I lived in an alcoholic neighborhood at the time, parties in my house every single day, and I'm hiding from them so they wouldn't know how much I'm drinking.

and also hiding my alcohol so they wouldn't get a hold of it because I knew I had to have my own, right? So anyway, the two weeks of that and what would happen is I would pass out before going out and except for that last night and my bottle of NyQuil was gone, the beer was gone and I was still wide awake and I decided to go get a nightcap and went to my nearest favorite bar and ordered a brandy because that's what people ordered for a nightcap.

And I have very little recollection of the rest of the night, except for them trying to kick me out because the bar was closing.

And then being in the back of the squad car and then coming to on the floor of the Orange County Women's Jail.

And there was a lot of women in that cell, and not one of them wanted to have anything to do with me, including myself.

And by the way, before I had that thought to get the brandy, I'm patting myself on the back.
Yeah.
