We've been slowly releasing little pieces of the roadmap over the last couple of weeks, sort of in the lead up to the season.
Obviously every sports collectible is going to be centered around rookies, rookies, rookie scarcity, rookie autographs.
And I think that's true for every sports collectible, but probably more so on top shot.
And so yeah, Going back to last year, we cut the rookie debut mint count last season from 4,000, which it had been since Series 4.
For anybody who doesn't know, rookie debut is a set, which is probably my favorite one on Top Shot.
You don't really know what that picture is from, but you know that it's got the little RC logo on it.
Even before it technically said, like, have the little rookie, the RC badge on it.
And I think at Top Shot, this rookie debut set, like, what's better than a rookie card, in my opinion, is a rookie moment.
What's better than a rookie moment than a, you know, something for your first game? What's better than that is a rookie's first basket.
Like, I think that most sickos remember, like, I can still visualize LeBron James' first basket, you know, against Sacramento on the baseline, like, I was 12 years old and it's those first baskets that just like stick out and feel so potentially historical.
Like that first basket from LeBron could have been like, he had a great rookie year and then he kind of faded away and he ended up being like kind of a bust, you know, but it's turned into one of the most iconic shots in NBA history.
Um, and so that's really what rookie debut, the set tries to encapsulate is this is this year's rookie class.
