Have you ever wanted to pray but just couldn't seem to find the strength or desire? In this episode of the Cross Culture Podcast, we have an honest conversation about lethargy in the Christian life - what it looks like, what may be causing it, and how it can affect our prayer lives and relationship with God. We discuss spiritual discipline, consistency in prayer, the tension between feelings and faithfulness, and the importance of pressing into God even when we don't feel like it. We also explore practical ways believers can cultivate a healthy prayer life without reducing prayer to mere routine or obligation. Whether you've been feeling spiritually dry or you're looking to grow in consistency, this episode offers biblical perspective, practical insights, and plenty of our usual banter along the way. **Episode Sponsor** To join the waitlist for Breed - your spiritual companion app to help you stay consistent in your walk with God, use this link: https://www.joinbreed.com/ 👉 Don’t forget to click the follow button and the bell icon, so you never miss new episodes! 💬 Drop your thoughts in the comments — we’d love to hear from you! M

4:08

A good scaffold.

M

4:09

[laughs] You know? Praise God.

M

MichaelHost

4:11

We did not use some words in a while.

M

MichaelHost

4:13

A, a good groundwork.

M

MichaelHost

4:14

We have been, we have been too angry.

M

We have been too angry.

[laughs] Guy like, these are, oh my God, twists.

M

MichaelHost

4:20

Yeah, I'm telling you.

M

MichaelHost

4:21

That's crazy.

M

MichaelHost

4:21

So, uh, you know, in this post I say, I said, "The dominion of, of sin over the life of a Christian- Mm-hmm ... is to the degree that that Christian walks in the flesh." Correct.

M

MichaelHost

4:30

And I said, "Flesh here just means secular or carnal." And carnal doesn't mean you are doing something bad, but if the emphasis of your life is carnal only, the devil will ha- will have his way.

M

MichaelHost

4:43

You see? And then I go on to say, for example, "Scrolling on social media is not a bad thing." Mm-hmm.

M

MichaelHost

4:49

"But the more you scroll on social media, you'll be ruled by things that plague social media." Mm-hmm.

M

MichaelHost

4:54

"It means that you will therefore be ruled by sin." To the whims and caprices of social media.

M

MichaelHost

4:59

The whims and caprices.

M

MichaelHost

5:00

"Watching the news is not bad, but if you watch the news too much, you will likely be ruled by fear.

M

MichaelHost

5:06

It's the reason why men are weak, why minds are puny," like I said.

M

MichaelHost

5:10

"And people are toxic, they are anxious, they are worn out, and there's a wave of olodos." [laughs] Praise God.

M

MichaelHost

5:18

"And they've been engrossed in the systems of the world." Yes.

M

MichaelHost

5:21

[laughs] Oh my God.

M

MichaelHost

5:21

However, when you are full...

M

MichaelHost

5:23

No.

M

MichaelHost

5:24

So and this is where I really- As you said that, then I know we begin with [laughs] Oh my God, the wave of olodos.
