Spurring on the next generation

Yeah.

How long were you working then in South Korea? Well, it would have been South Korea then, wouldn't it?

Yes.

Well, it's still South Korea.

Yeah.

Talking about listening.

Hmm.

I'm so grateful that in my very early years as a Christian, I was taught the importance of daily Bible reading and of reflecting and listening.

What is God saying here and through this to me? And it has been a lifelong discipline.

Not easy in the midst of very busy professional life, as many people will know.

Somewhat easier now in retirement with a bit more flexibility to time.

But it is still the delight of my life.

day to be up early and spending an hour with the scriptures and in prayer and this morning i was up before half past five in order to make time to do that

so you're very much an early riser then

well um Yes.

I'm not sure whether by nature or by training, but maybe a bit of both.

I suspect that most of us who work in the medical and nursing field become only risers by necessity rather than necessarily inclination.

But it is a great time of the day to pray.

I agree, absolutely.

Another thing I have found in that is the value of making notes, actually writing down what I learn from the scriptures and what seems to be applied in my life and the world around me.

And I have a whole bookshelf of books page-to-a-day desk diaries filled with a page of notes from these daily reflections on what God has been teaching me from the Scriptures.

Wow.

That's a useful library to go back to and just remind yourself of where God has laid you as well.

Yes, yes.
