Solveig Friberg - The Pedagogical Blueprint for Chess Success

Okay, so then comes this question of, at the same time as you were improving, you also started to work on a Chessable course, which is now becoming a big success already.

I checked the reviews.

I mean, that's incredible.

Already you received like 4.87 out of 5 stars.

That's like top.

And even like the reviews were amazing.

So also tell us about a bit of that.

Like how come then you started to work on a Chessable course? What was the intention? And why, as always? What was the why behind creating that course?

Yeah, so I was absolutely over the moon when Chessable contacted me about creating a course.

But I had like a major imposter syndrome.

I was just like, why on earth do they want me to do this? I'm not a title player.

But, you know, I spoke with them.

And through our conversations, I started to understand the reasoning because, you know, we have this rise or surge of adult chess improvers.

And, you know, it's actually a little bit of a gap in learning materials that are available for those with online ratings between zero to 1200.

And a lot of existing resources, they are geared towards children.

And many of the beginner books are actually a lot more difficult than they might seem.

Like, for example, the first book I purchased was The Amateur's Mind.

And that is, of course, a fantastic book, but it's not exactly suited for someone who just learned how the pieces move.

And I also picked up, I actually have it here, the Build Up Your Chest series by Arthur Yusupo.

Yes.

And this is like one of my favorites still.

I think it's so good.

But when I

just started out, I actually, I struggled with most of the exercises.

So it was like a little bit too challenging as well.
