Ep. 91 - Colin's Summer Series Volume 1 (Angad)

we're going to start with Jackson Dart, Cam Ward, and J.J. McCarthy as the quarterback room.

And we can't forget about Geno Smith.

There's a lot happening in Ongood's quarterback room right now.

But let's kind of dive into it.

So everybody and their mother blew a hissy fit when Ongood traded his 2027 firsts for Jackson Dart last year.

In hindsight, do we really hate it that much? Jackson Dart looks like a starting quarterback in the NFL, at least on his rookie contract.

Now, he took a beating this past year.

Didn't know when to stop running, whether they were calling design runs or he was just taking off.

He took a lot of shots, but he did have a promising start to the last campaign.

And so the 2027 first that Anga traded for Jackson Dart honestly looks pretty fantastic at this point.

So he's got his QB1, which is Jackson Dart.

Cam Ward and Geno Smith are other starting quarterbacks this year, which, you know, unfortunately is not a great situation for Ongood.

Cam Ward showed a lot of promise in year one.

And with Robert Sala and Brian Dable as his coaches in year two, you do expect him to take a little bit of a leap.

He has incredible arm talent, but he's always going to be limited because of his inability to run.

So he could potentially be a solid QB2 for Onged moving forward.

And then he traded this year for Geno Smith, which is kind of crazy.

Two-thirds and a fourth.

For a 36-year-old rental, kind of interesting.

What it seemed like to me is obviously he saw the fallout of J.J. McCarthy, and he figured, hey, I need a third quarterback at this point because I'm not going to take Jeremiah Love at 101.

Or I'm not going to take Fernando Mendoza at 101, excuse me.

So he needed a third quarterback, and so he went out and traded a couple thirds and a fourth for Geno.

So as far as the quarterback room for Ongood, I'd say it's pretty weak.

Jackson Dart is a massive hit for him.

So good for on good for trading for that quarterback.
