so let's go back to your beginnings in music what kind of set you down this path

um i suppose uh the music that my dad listened to when i was growing up you know from since i was born really i was exposed to old chess record stuff muddy waters elmo james you know sunny boy williamson uh and i always had an interest in it um but i didn't really start playing blues until I picked up my harmonica, which was when I was about 16 or 17 years old.

And I taught myself to play from old blues records, mostly Muddy Waters albums, actually.

My sister is a singer too, Danny Wild, and she signed to Roof Records, the German blues label, when I was about 20, 21.

So I began touring, playing in her band and recording with her, and then started my own band shortly after that.

What drew you to harmonica? It was the song, Help Me, by Sonny Boy Williamson, really.

I suppose we've got, although we're both blues based artists, I've gone more down the blues rock route where she's a little more kind of soul country kind of blues.
