Rob BullHostI've never actually thought about my previous background and how that has a link to business.

Yeah, well, I was going to start with last century, but I thought that would make us all feel a lot older than we are.

But what made you make that switch? What was the moment or realisation that pushed you, firstly, I guess, from the police force and into business ownership? And then secondly, out of just business ownership into actually consulting back to small businesses?
I think if I go right back to my policing days, I enjoyed my time with the police.
Definitely learned a lot of things, to see a lot of things and do a lot of things that a lot of people wouldn't be exposed to.
I spent a good part of my career in the CIV, criminal investigation branch, and then a lot of serious crime.
And probably the last two years, involved in an undercover program where I was what was known as the operator.
So working covertly, not really working with the local police, but having an involvement.
And I just got to the stage a year operationally in the field and then a year in court for numerous court cases.
And I just found I was becoming one of those cynical buggers that no one wanted to work with.
And I don't know if people were seeing that in me, but I was seeing that in myself.
One morning going to work, and there was a cordon not far from the police station, and there were some people being held hostage in a bar and restaurant.
And my first thought was not like, oh, this is going to be an interesting day, but, oh, man, there goes the rest of my day.
