We're we'll come to Romans 6 in a bit and we'll explore more this whole understanding of what it means to be united with Christ but that that angle of transformation and just to keep you on your on your toes could you now turn to Ephesians 2 got to keep you awake Ephesians 2 we'll start there we'll come to Romans 6 in a moment What I want to do in Ephesians 2 is show you how it leads up to a key verse at the end.

Ephesians 2.10, for we are God's handiwork created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God has prepared in advance for us to do.

Because, of course, although you're dead in transgressions and sins, you're still living.

What did that deadness look like? It meant you followed, verse 2, the ways of the world.

You followed the ruler of the air, the spirit who's at work in those who are disobedient, the devil.

You, verse 3, gratified the cravings of your flesh or your sinful nature and followed its desires and thoughts.
in deadness

and so verse three we were by nature deserving of wrath And then comes the change, and it comes using the with Christ language, verse 4.

in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus it's all verse 7 so that he will show the incomparable riches of his grace expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus we we as it were only have a little glimpse of how gracious God has been to us so far and one day we will stand back and go wow it's amazing Just like Colossians 3 yesterday, here in Ephesians, slightly different language, but we follow the same path as Christ.
