Just that two degrees of separation kind of thing in Vancouver where you always know someone in common when you meet someone new.

was, was Phil Misselberger there at that? That was like an open house event, right? No, that was just a straight up meeting.

Oh, you just dropped into a meeting? This was like a couple weeks into Samurai Brotherhood.

Yeah, this was Nick and Chris and myself, Leo, Jason came a little later, a couple guys that weren't really around for very long.

It was a very small room with Phil, and it was just kind of like, what is this? What's going on? And we just talked

So you joined and what was that first year like for you in that group? You go from not having that regular contact to every week sitting in the circle with the same group of guys going deeper each week, sharing more and more of yourself and they're sharing more and more of themselves.

What changed in your life and what changed in your mind around men in that first year?

My first year, there was a change in me where I went from what I was bringing into the room versus what I actually realized I could gain.

I had an awareness enlightening moment when I was around 23, and I found it tough to talk with people about it.

And I was thinking maybe in this kind of men's group, I'll have other guys I can talk with about that kind of level of experience.

So I came in with a lot of confidence in my ability to just be here for everything.

And then I had a really tough week where I just bit the bullet, did a ton of tough work for myself and for family members.
