He just tells the stories in his own way, his own special way of like, how do we extract the lessons from this myth or this story? So I'd love to hear what one or two of your favorite stories are from the Bible that stick with you that you often come back to and why they're inspiring for you.

I like Jonah and the whale because if you take a little bit of a deeper look and see the distances involved, he basically took himself from the Middle East and went all the way to the opposite end of the known world to try to avoid going where God wanted him to go.

And then God captures him with the fish, the whale, whatever you want to believe, and drops him off at the shore of this misbegotten place full of people he doesn't want to help.

And the thing about God is that God does things for God reasons that we don't get to know necessarily in this life.

We see what we see, we want what we want, but God sees all and he knows better than we do.

He knows best.

And sometimes our job is to just do what we're told in confusion, in outright disagreement, because things tend to work out worse if I try to think I know better than God.

It's like gangs and all the shit we get into when we're younger, you know?
