Aryan, known online as Mocka or @mockashoots, joins me on this week's episode of TFB's Behind the Gun for a conversation about competitive shooting, content creation, and what it's like owning and…
So, um, back in 2018, I decided to flex my skills as they say.
And, um, I knew that we didn't really have an app for browsing rules.
Like USPSA's rule book is the same, uh, problem with the IPC rules is you got like seven or eight disciplines.
So it's, it's a bit more, you know, annoying than the IPC one.
And one thing I learned when I started getting into.
So even now that technically isn't because you're still going through pages and scrolling.
Yep.
So I decided to do the hard part of basically digitizing these rule books and having all these rules individually, like turn into data structures.
I don't want to bore you too much, but the idea was to make an app that made it easier and more mobile friendly to browse them.
Right.
To look up like specific things that you, you know, you might want to during a match or something.
Okay.
Okay.
Yeah, it's going through its like 10th iteration.
And yeah, it's doing really well.
It's got about 3,000, 4,000 users.
I do get complaints sometimes when something goes wrong.
That's when you know you're doing well, is when you get direct messages saying, hey, this isn't working.
Well, it's
good though, because you can make it better.
Yeah, when I have time.
The problem with apps is it takes a while to like deploy and publish them, especially with Apple's like review boards and stuff.
