It was, according to the surrender index, it was the most cowardly punt of the day.
But with the game that Jonathan Taylor was having, I was kind of shocked that they didn't go for it there.
I honestly am a little surprised that the analytics say that you should go for it.
Is there not some weird feature of the surrender index that's like... to make a more interesting story, which was, it was great for John Boyce, but like, isn't there a feature of it where it's like late in games, you should be going for the win because funny enough, like the Colts deciding not to go for it there for better or worse, they were in the red zone.
just needing a touchdown to win it in overtime first and 10 or they were just outside the red zone and they handed the ball off two times and and they didn't go anywhere so it's not like Taylor was just like a lock by himself that's true and then and then they ended up you know taking a field goal and playing for the tie and it didn't work out but they got themselves in a situation that you would have gladly taken ultimately by punting there that one didn't I guess strike me as like overly egregious from your own 49 especially when you know the other team has a guy who would like Attempt a field goal from right there for the win and very likely like, you know, they could have picked up a few yards on on a couple of runs or something like that and then made it a pretty reasonable kick.
The fact that, you know, Kansas City would have won the game if you didn't get it.
i i can understand not going for it there but i do also like a little bit of aggression and jonathan taylor was on a heater in this one both running backs were playing quite well
