Travis Hunter

I'm just telling you, if you look at what happens, what Colorado became, uh, is all because of Deion Sanders and some of the players he was able to bring in.

I mean, Travis Hunter was a big deal.

His kids were a big deal, or at least Shador was a big deal.

But, you know, he created that spectacle, which, you know, the tickets they were able to sell, the sponsorships they were able to do, the numbers they do on social media, YouTube, all of that.

Just quickly looking at the Jaguars.

Is Travis Hunter playing corner? He's now fully outside.

Kind of.

All right, so can you give us a look on defensively what they could throw at the Patriots?

We still made the right pick.

I'm not so sure about that, but Trayvon Walker is a good player.

And yeah, with, with Travis Hunter, it's interesting because he's not playing like a full share of cornerback snaps.

Even like we expected him to be on the field more than anyone else else in his football career, playing full-time cornerback and full-time wide receiver.

Jacoby Myers.

Travis Hunter.

They have some big tight ends that they've invested in.

I just think it's going to be tough for that defense to stop four wide receivers, four pass catchers, and Trevor Lawrence who can move in the pocket.

I didn't think he'd be the best of the Jacoby Myers, Brian Thomas, Travis Hunter tandem.

Who the hell? Who's going to cover all those guys? Who's Gonzalez covering these guys? Washington or Thomas?

And I'm not on the payroll, okay? I wasn't, you know, someone didn't drop me off a bottle of whiskey today and say, hey, Baloo, be kind.

You know, can you just be, hey, no.

This is supposed to be a Cohen forte.

And he ran it four times last week.

One of those, the Travis Hunter.

And, you know, just didn't work with a lot of success this week.

Let's examine the issues that came out of yesterday's game.

There is the Travis Hunter issue.

Why is a guy that you traded up for in the draft, gave up a ton to get, called him a generational player that could change the game of football, their words, not mine, playing 60% of the defensive snaps, that's 60%, and only 10% of the offensive snaps? Is that...

Injury related from last year? Or is there something deeper there? We'll discuss.

Can you teach strength? Can you teach just beating your guy man versus man with five minutes to go to not let them get a first down? I don't know if you can improve on that.

So that to me was maybe the most concerning thing.

Travis Hunter, they need to figure that out.

I've been on board with it, and I've supported it.

Evan Ingram makes a really nice play, maybe the best play of Evan Ingram's career, which isn't Bronco's career, rather.

But that's not saying much, but he gets a big completion, and then they target Travis Hunter deep.

He gets pass interference, just doesn't get his head around, and then they punch it in with Jonah Coleman, and then Denver ends up getting a stop.

And they get the ball back, and they put the game away with the 20-13 lead there.

Does a good job sliding down inside the two-minute warning just to kind of let the game run out.

And on that run that Jonah Coleman bounces out... is a great example on that play of why defensive back run defense does matter so much.

It's a hard thing to evaluate, but on the play that ended the game, both Travis Hunter and Antonio Johnson would get very negative grades on that play for their run defense.

Both of them lose contain Jonah Coleman makes them pay for it and game over right there.

Liam Cohen met with reporters just about an hour ago on Zoom and talked about the rotating corners.

It's been a point of contention with Travis Hunter only playing 37 defensive snaps out of a possible 62.

And Liam Cohen talked about why that is what the Jaguar defensive staff is doing.

It's by drive with those guys rotating in, you know, with Buster, Travis, Jarrion, and then obviously J. Lou specifically and some of the nickel, you know, nickel stuff.

I'm not sure Jarrion's that.

He's probably more of that, but not that.

I do think Travis Hunter might be that.

So that might be what you are is, and at some point, maybe you play more than just as a rotation role.
