EP 262: Stacey asks fans for patience, contemplates the idea of tanking, and talks offseason moves

Did you get a chance to watch any of the festivities? Obviously, you were on vacation.

You were doing things outside.

The format worked, but I think the reason it worked for the All-Star game was because the way they divided up the two U.S. squads, they had the young guys against the old guys.

So they each were trying to send a message.

And, of course, the international guys were representing their country.

They didn't really have Luka or Jokic who only played five minutes because they were coming off injuries.

But I think it worked more because of the way they divided the teams rather than having four 12-minute games.

Well, here's what's going to happen.

It's going to be a changing of the guard at some point.

Yeah.

You know, LeBron's going to be gone.

Steph's going to be gone.

You know, Kevin Durant is going to be gone at some point.

What you're seeing is this younger generation of players.

You know, Anthony Edwards is leading the charge.

They're very competitive.

They understand what the all-star game is about.

Cooper Flagg.

I believe Modest Bruce Ellis is going to be in that group at some point.

These guys are competitors.

They want to compete.

Cade Cunningham, Durin.

This younger generation who understands that I want to see my best against your best.

you know, you got Wimby who set the tone, you know, he's coming out to act like he's playing for the San Antonio Spurs.

He's out there trying to go for 40, you know, so he's setting the tone of how this new generation is going to be coming up.
