So for anyone that needs some context to this, um, usually after a Substack bestsellers party, and I don't see it with the American parties.

There's a sort of wave of like, how do you get invited? How come they're there and I'm not there? Or, you know, how come there's this party and we shouldn't, we all, you know, it's a whole thing on notes.

I don't know how big it actually is, whether it's just someone's sort of flippant thought with that cup of tea in the morning, or it actually cuts really deep.

So I wanted to speak to some of that stuff, but also, to remind people that you're already at the party and in fact that was the title of my Substack I sent out on Sunday because I feel like we are I feel like what a gift what a blessing to be able to turn on the internet and talk to our audiences to be able to write podcasts really easily you know when I first had the idea I might start a podcast not only did I overthink it for about three years before I did anything I couldn't fathom the tech.

It didn't matter how many conversations I had with people, how many YouTube videos I watched.

And on Substack, you literally turn it on, press record, and then distribute a podcast on the same day.

And I found very quickly that oftentimes there could be a disconnect by the conversation you thought you were having with somebody and then the vibe in real life.

And on Substack, it feels different because I think we are sharing more of who we really are.

So more of the personal memoir type writing enables you to feel a deeper connection to a writer.

And then when you do happen to meet them in real life or bump into them or whatever happens, you feel in a way, in a parasocial way, like you already know them.
