we are not our feelings i'm a big friend of my friend mine's phil perry philippa perry the psychotherapist and she's full of wisdom and one of the great pieces of wisdom i got from her was that you are not your feelings you know we all have our feelings and that's part of Just being human, isn't it? But we are not just that.

We are also our thoughts and our experience and our wishes and our commitments and all that kind of thing.

And I just managed to just not be in the grip of anger all the time.

They've got such a long list of famous authors.

So they've got Alice Roberts, Natalie Haynes, Philippa Perry, Sebastian Barry.

Rob Cowan, our great friend, occasional guest on the show who did the great book, The North Road, this year and before back.

Kate Atkinson, Francis Spuford.

So I think it's not fair to cut myself out.

Yesterday I had Philippa Perry on and I managed to misquote it.

every single one of her books, titles, even though I had written them down correctly and indeed read them.

So my research was impeccable, but my menopausal capacity to translate something on my iPad, because I have in front of me now, I have just a few notes about whoever I'm interviewing, and to translate it from on my iPad to my mouth to her.

I know, now I'm watching the clock, seriously.

Yeah, now you're sick.

I'm going to mention your books, partly because I want people listening to know of your books, but partly because I'm going to try and redress what happened with Philippa Perry.

So I'm going to quote your books.

And also we feel you're heartbreaking.

Philippa Perry says, get two copies, one for your child when they leave home and one for you to have a weep with when they do.

And it is like that.

And, you know, my kids have long, well, they haven't gone, of course.
