You know, um, there's probably a lot of new years since you were here last time, so we're gonna have you introduce yourself all over again.

I'm just learning this right now.

Yes, this is the National Football League.

It appeared to me the only one which jests with itself throughout, wondrous giants, magicians, and monsters opposed to an odd dynasty of gods, and only occupied in leading astray and deriding the highest persons during their government while they threaten them, besides, with disgraceful and inevitable destruction.

I felt a similar if not an equal interest for the Indian fables, which I at first learned to know from Dapper's Travels, and likewise added with great pleasure to my store of tales.

In subsequent repetitions I succeeded especially with the altar of Ram, and notwithstanding the great number of persons in this tale, the ape Hanuman remained the favourite of my public.

But even these unformed and overformed monsters could not satisfy me in a true poetic sense.

This past week we've done a lot of looking back on a day that many, many of us will never forget, and that's 9/11.

The terror attacks had a huge and immediate impact on travel, but the reverberations still continue to this day, 25 years later.

So how did September 11th change the travel industry? In this episode, we've asked two heavy hitters in the business, our former editor-in-chief, Arnie Weissman, and Kathy Sudaikis, a travel advisor and past president of ASTA, to remember that day, and we talk about what came next for travel, the medium term impacts, and what the business is like now.

So I- I'm, I'm really glad that Kathy and, and Arnie were able to join me today because now that it's the 25th anniversary of 9/11, I thought it was important, uh, to, to take an episode of The Follow to talk about some of the seismic changes, and actually some of the small changes that have taken place over these past 25 years and some of the impacts that 9/11 had on the travel business.

Now, I'm the first to admit that I don't know everything about Europe, as there are lots of small pockets and places that I just haven't been to yet.

Of course, as in all classes there are different grades, so there are jinrikisha men who seem to have sunk so low in their calling that they have lost all feeling of loyalty to their employer, and only care selfishly for the pittance they gain.

Such men are often found in the treaty ports, eagerly seeking for the rich foreigner from whom they can get an extra fee and whom they regard as outside of their code of morals, and hence as their natural prey.

Travelers and even residents of Japan have often complained of such treatment, and it is only after long stay in Japan, among the Japanese themselves, that one can tell what a jinrikisha man is capable of.

If you employ one kuruma-ya for any length of time, you come to have a real affection for him on account of his loyal, faithful, cheerful service, such as we seldom find in this country except when inspired by personal feeling.

When you have ridden miles and miles by night and by day, through rain and sleet and hottest sunshine, behind a man who has used every power of body and mind in your service, you cannot but have strong feeling of affection toward him, and of pride in him as well.
