Our Secretary Simon was part of this cabal, you know, backroom cabal that got rid of our state flag without a vote.

There was no vote of the legislature even.

They wouldn't bring it up in the legislature, and they certainly didn't have the public vote on it.

I'm going to hammer and hammer and hammer for a public vote because people are upset.

I mean, cities and counties don't want to fly Simon's flag.

You know, it's been a fiasco.

me ask you a question, Tad, because that one has been bedazzling me for a long, long time.

I didn't ever hear a demand or a feeling that we had to change our state flag.

Where did that come from? Where did all of a sudden, who decided that we needed to have a change of the state flag?

You know, Brad, you put your finger on something.

It was a backroom deal, and there was no public hearings in the legislature.

There was no public debate where we could vote on a ballot on it, and we need to have that for it to be a legitimate change.

If Simon's flag—he was the only elected official on this committee of 13— that decided we needed a new flag and what it was gonna look like.

And the legislature had set this up when they had this trifecta back in 2023.

The legislature set it up.

Governor Walz, of course, and our US Senate candidate, Flanagan, were part of this discussion as well.

They sent it to this committee of 13 people.

Simon was the only elected official on it who voted.

And they got rid of the state flag without public hearings in the legislature, without a vote of the legislature on the design.

And that's something, I think that was an insult.

It was just plain insult to the taxpayers of Minnesota.

Cities and counties have never refused to fly the state flag until now.
