Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs

We are Classic Hits K-Wing 106, your Great Rivers Mutual Wildcat Nation station.

Logan Breuer with you guys here as we welcome in a Goodhue football alumni, Adam Potsic, graduated with the class of 2023, and now up at UMD playing receiver for the Bulldogs.

Hey, welcome in, Adam.

How are you?

Duluth was one of my top schools coming out of high school, so the coaches contacted me and brought me on a visit.

Really liked it here, liked the guys, so decided to commit here.

And, uh, now I'm in my second season here with the Bulldogs and, yeah, really enjoying it.

And University of Norti- North Dakota, is that D1 FBS? Am I right on that?

Bruce Siskey will bring you the call tonight from Amsoil Arena.

UMD Bulldogs and the Minnesota Gophers.

Oh, let's go, boys.

Friday, tonight, 6.30, coverage starts.

[singing] It's like this, baby.

[singing] I beat the pressure tonight, yeah Week two of college hockey in the books, and of course, we've got Gophers against UMD Bulldogs this week.

Had to bring back on none other than Max Veech, who, uh, is actually a, a proud member of Veach.

Veach, welcome on.

You know, uh, uh, I ...

It pains me to say it because I think two years ago Gophers swept.

Last year Bulldogs swept.

This year Bulldogs have the better team on paper, but I really do think it probably goes back to a, a split.

I believe that is a Saturday night, 7:00 kickoff.

It is homecoming for your UMD Bulldogs.

Here we go.

Number 18 UMD battling number 22.

Uh, so before we hear from Ève today, we want to get the perspective from her coach.

[air whooshes] Okay, everybody, joining us now is the head coach of the UMD Bulldogs, 2018 Olympic silver medalist as a part of the Team Canada staff, has coached at the highest levels of both the collegiate and international games.

We are so excited that she's on here today with us, chatting about her standout goaltender, Ève Gascon.

Um, I mean, you already know a lot about what it's like to coach players that have, uh, transitioned i- into the PWHL, um, having already nine of your players of UMD in the last few years switch over to the P-Dub.

Highly touted freshman Nella Lapusanova also added five points.

The surprising result of the weekend goes to the Vermont Catamounts, taking down the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs 3-0 at Gutterson Fieldhouse.

The Bulldogs got the revenge the following night, but it took an extra frame to do so.

Junior Josie St. Martin notched two goals, including the game winner, to earn the 3-2 overtime victory Saturday.

Those were the results of the weekend at the WCHA.

Um, their defense I actually don't mind at all.

Like, Bank- Mikey Anderson, former UMD Bulldog.

Yep.

I like Brant Clark a lot.

6 p.m. Friday, 3 p.m. Saturday, UMD versus Mercyhurst at Amsoil Arena.

Tickets, umdbulldogs.com. We'll have those games as well on Big Ten Plus.

Tom Hanson has the call on Friday, and I've got the call of the game on Saturday on Big Ten Plus.

Until we return to the office on Monday with Jeff Papus and some hockey content as well, have a great weekend, would you?
